I've been doing comic book reviews semi-pro since Oct 2007 with Dynamic Forces and became a staff member at GEN online in 2009; by 2010 I'd like to have my first CosplayDeviants set done. Just launched my own YouTube channel for reviews in 2008. Been married since 2004. I am owned by the beloved poufy Princess Caicó, a moody Himalayan. I'm often tired and at this point consider it chronic fatigue or whatever the hell the trendy name is for being exhausted. I've been dealing with depression for about 10 years. My spirituality is very important to me and has helped me through the most difficult and the most joyous times of my life. Over the 2003-2004 winter I gained a lot of weight. I was close to 200 lbs; I stopped weighing myself around 188. Now I'm 120 and have 10 or so left to lose.
My various sites:
Comic Vine (http://www.comicvine.com/myvine/Amber/) - for blogging about comics and tracking pull lists
Costume Blog (http://herofashions.blogspot.com) - my blog for creating costumes particularly superhero things and other sewing stuff
BookCrossing (http://www.bookcrossing.com/mybookshelf/amberlorien) - my bookshelf for what I have available to trade and my catalog of my permanent collection
Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/zrook_amber) - mainly I just use it for networking because I hate myspace. This is my characters' blog which I don't write in much but I use it to find other people within the superhero/comic book communities.
Stumble Upon (http://elizabeth-amber.stumbleupon.com/about/) - my profile for the viral "digg" type of site.
ComicSpace (http://www.comicspace.com/amberlove/) - the "myspace" for comic book fans which is far superior to the actual myspace garbage. If you love the superhero and zombie movies that have been made, if you're an artist or writer, or if you're just a general fan of the genre, move here.
Deviant Art (http://amberlorien.deviantart.com/) -- a few of my photoshop brushes and stuff.
Feedback Fan Club message board (http://www.kamikazekomics.com/bboard/index.php) - where I spend a lot of time.
I'm a newbie when it comes to Photoshop but I love making avatars. I've been able to make some connections in LJ to people who are very talented with graphics. Since I use their art all the time I'm crediting them here just in case I forget to in posting my finished icons:
miggy produces outstanding comic book art and Photoshop brushes.
ohfreckle creates beautiful and intricate textures and brushes.
lil_brokenangel is another one for making good brushes, icons, and bases.
scarsonchest or Dex the Zombie makes different textures within themes.Lovely Trash, Dex the Zombie's website with collections of brushes, textures, gradients, icons, etc.
whoresque provides screen caps for one of my favorite cartoons, Disney's W.I.T.C.H.TitansGo.net provides all the screen captures for Teen Titans.Bauble or Angela has developed a tool which makes formatting your icons into a table so easy; it gives your creations a nice clean presentation for your html pages or LJ posts.
soraidhs_icons is an LJ friend who willingly gives up her avatar creations as long as you credit.500ml Brushes is a site that has free Photoshop brushes and textures with no annoying pop-up ads or anything like that.
brits_graphics for Justice League screen captures with lots of nice close ups.Obsidian Dawn, Damned in Black and Aethereality provide more free brushes.Just discovered another awesome site for brushes, textures and screen caps. It's called Anthropomorphic Fruit, a nice site with a whacky name. Gotta love it!You'll find other sources in my Links List for things like Supernatural and comic book art.

| A very moody 30-something from NJ. She's really only happy when escaping reality by means of television, reading, playing with graphics or writing/journaling. |
| Strengths: Likes to learn new things especially about her favorite subjects: cooking, comics/movies/tv, health/fitness, coffee/tea, cats/animals, and avatars. |
| Weaknesses: Addicted to fair trade organic espresso.
Requires a lot of sleep.
Obsesses about just about anything.
Quite a slob.
Empathy is so strong it weakens her mental and physcial states. |
| Special Skills: Some computer skills but nothing great; massage therapy for relaxation and sports rehabilitation; Jin Shin Jyutsu basics for harmonizing the body; tarot reading. |
| Weapons: Dark energy manipulation; Transferance of Energies; Binding; Candle Magick; Healing Magick; Communication with Familiars. |
Favorites: Cartoons: W.I.T.C.H., The Batman and Batman The Animated Series, The Life and Times of Juniper Lee.
TV: Supernatural, Blade, Ghost Whisperer, Monk, Psych.
Movies: Jaws, Pirates o.t.C., Hellboy, Spider-man, X-Men.
Authors: Susan Wittig Albert, Lilian Jackson Braun, Laura Childs, Cleo Coyle, (Clive Cussler when the mood strikes). |
